Rick Bauer (IBT Pipeline Director), Andy Walsh (IBT Construction Division), and James McMilon (Business Agent, Teamsters Local 959) visited the current Alaska Pipeline, built in the 1970s, as well as the Alaska Pipeline Training Center in Fairbanks.

Gary Dixon (Secretary-Treasurer, Teamsters Local 959), James McMilon (BA, Teamsters Local 959), and Rick Bauer (IBT Pipeline Director) have been meeting weekly with other pipeline crafts, the Pipeline Contractors Association employers who have already been awarded spreads, and gas companies. They are negotiating for the upcoming 890 miles of 42” pipeline, which will begin construction later this year.

This project will provide up to two years of work for 1,200 to 1,500 Teamsters.
